In the near future when medical miracles are the norm, news of the high-tech procedure that helped Dorrie Montana recover from a near-fatal injury is sweeping the globe; yet Dorrie remains oblivious to her own notoriety,  Secluded in a remote rehabilitation community where she contends with the meddling of her well-intentioned mother, she finds that the extreme pleasantness of her Disneyesque surroundings only heightens her anxiety, and so she rarely leaves her room.
